|SEVEN OAKS ART LEAGUE SPEAKER FOR NOVEMBER IS BARBARA YONGUE OF BLAIR, SC
Seven Oaks Art League
invites you to our
Seven Oaks Park
6:30pm - 8:30pm
Plein air painting to Barbara is essentially a perfect match. She loves to travel and loves to paint and truly believes that painting plein air is the ultimate painting experience.
Experience in painting from life will most definitely be a big help when the artist HAS to paint from photographs. She has traveled with paint gear to Venice, Tuscany, Florence, Lake Como, Paris,
Provence, Portugal, the Adirondacks (plein air publishers invitational) Santa Fe, New Mexico and Ghost Ranch.
The MOPS (midland outdoor painter society) have gone as a group to several state parks including Amicalola Falls State Park in northern Georgia ,
Fort McAllister State Park just below Savannah, and most recently to Edisto State Park .
Barbara is a member of the Oil Painters of America and Women Painters of the South East and the American Impressionist Society.
I will be presenting several different easels for plein air and explain about how and what to pack and NOT pack. I will show examples of plein air work and go into what I think of as the basics.
“What you get out of painting plein air is not always a great painting but it is almost always a great experience” this is what I want artists that don’t plein air to understand.
