Seven Oaks Art League

The Seven Oaks Art League is open to amateur and professional artists interested in supporting the fine arts. Meetings are held on the third Thursday of the month, unless otherwise stated, at 7:00 pm at Seven Oaks Park located at 200 Leisure Lane, Columbia, South Carolina.. Refreshments and fellowship time begins at 6:30 pm and we meet September through May.

Our program for May will be presented by Bill Barley of Bill Barley & Associates

Bill will talk about taking photos of your painting before it’s framed and all the ins and outs of photo taking and he will also talk about making prints, especially Giclee’ prints. He is well know around here for his excellent work in making Giclee’ prints. We think this program will be beneficial and exciting for everyone.

Bill Barley combines over three decades of photographic excellence with the latest digital techniques. In addition, he's one of the few aerial photographers in the area. He has been a pilot since 1978 and holds his commercial, instrument and instrument instructor ratings.

Bill is a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photographic Illustration. He is the principal and owner of Bill Barley & Associates and a member of numerous professional and business organizations. His photography has won many local and national awards, including four Kodak Gallery awards, seven Fuji Masterpiece awards and the 1999 South Carolina Photographer of the Year.

When not on location, he owns and works from a fully equipped, private studio near Columbia, SC.

The Shooting area is 30' x 40', 14' high, underneath an overhead platform. It features a 10' drive-in door, electronic flash and tungsten lighting. Bill and his experienced associates produce just about everything a client may require.

Our meeting will be Thursday, May 17th at 6:30pm.
